The eleven-year shoe

So, this is what happens when you wear a pair of shoes for eleven years.
I mean, come on, they are wal-mart brand and everything.
I am sorely disappointed.
I thought they would last at least 12! : )

surprise party

My really awesome friends Stefani, Sadina, and Sarah (wait, there's a pattern here),
threw me a surprise birthday party last night at Chili's.
Here are pictures of the beautiful flowers and fun presents they got me.
It was so special.
What a special birthday.
I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends.

Job interview

Well, I have an interview for T2 (cardiac unit) on Monday at 7:45am.
I am really excited about this new possibility.

Verse of the day

Psalm 25:4-6
Show me your ways, O Lord,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.

This verse really hit home for me today.
I don't know what my future holds,
and I need His direction for the future.
My hope is truly only in Him.

Job posting

I put in an application for T2 today. This is the cardiac unit.
I applied for a day/night position that hopefully
will be mostly days.
I don't know how soon I will hear anything.
I asked the Lord if it is supposed to happen
that everything will just fall into place,
and if not, that it just won't work out.
So we will see what happens.
I am excited and scared at the same time!

Deck Duty Continues

We found the perfect stain! I can't believe how nice it makes the wood look.
We got the side done after working on it Saturday and Sunday. Now we just have to do the front.

Deck Duty

So we are working on cleaning and staining our deck. Jason is very creative in how to reach our nine foot high deck on the front.
Below is a picture of the $80 stain we bought that looks TERRIBLE. I don't know if you can tell from the picture- but it looks PINK!!!! Unfortunately it is non-refundable, so we are trying to figure out what we could possibly stain pink. We are going tomorrow to pick new stain. Hopefully I will have a picture out soon of the newly stained deck!

My newest project

So, I have decided to attempt the impossible and try to build a dollhouse.
Crazy, I am sure.
The last two things I built only had five or six parts, and they fell apart.
Things I build are now subject to inspection by Jason for worthiness.
So, he promises he will help me, and I will keep you updated on the progress.

Below is the first few pieces out and shellaked (sp?) Can anyone out there tell me how to spell shellaked???

Anyway, there is progess being made, I am on step #2 (yes, yes, I am aware there are hundreds of steps, just let me gloat that I finished step #1) : )

Jason's Wheels

Here is Jason's truck all painted and lookin' spiffy.
I usually name our vehicles, but Jason already named him Big Red.
Original, I know. : )

Truck topper

Jason got a topper for his new truck, but it didn't match, so he painted it today.
This is the before shot above.

This is Jason hand-sanding around the windows.
The topper is all sanded and ready to paint.
Here is the painting process.

His friend Ray owns a body shop and helped him with the process and supplies.

And here is the finished product. It has to dry overnight.

I will get a picture of it on the truck tomorrow.
