June 6th- 10th, Jason and I along with our friends the Poseys drove 8 1/2 hours to Danvers, MA. We visited lots of museums and learned a lot about 17th century history. This was outside of the New England Pirate Museum where we learned about early pirate history. Very interesting.
On Friday, we went whale watching. Here is one of the whales. It was pretty cold out on the water, but we got to see a lot of whales. They didn't seem to be too afraid of the boat, as they swam right up to it.
The author Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a book titled "The House of Seven Gables." This is the house that he wrote the book about. It has gone through many constructions over the last 300 years, but there is still a few sections of the house that are original. It is a 14 room house. We toured the house and got to hear all about its history. Now I want to read the book.
We had a great time, and New England is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go back!
